About Boat Dogs
People who love dogs and the water.
Boat Dogs began with a simple idea: the best day a dog can have is a real day out. Sea air, a beach to explore, good mates aboard, and people who actually know what they are doing on the water.
Our story
A private club day, done properly.
We are not a busy daycare yard and we are not a kennel. We run small, handpicked groups out onto the Hauraki Gulf for a full day of adventure, then bring them home happy and tired. Every trip is planned around the conditions and the dogs on board.
Years on Auckland water, a certified canine first aid kit, fitted life vests and calm, controlled boarding mean the adventure never comes at the cost of safety. That balance, big days out held together by real skill and judgment, is the whole point of Boat Dogs.
Good crew. Great day.
What we stand for
The standards behind every trip.
Small by design
We cap every trip at six compatible dogs. It is the single biggest reason each day stays calm, social and genuinely safe.
Judgment first
We read the forecast, the location and the dogs in our care, and we make the call every time. If in doubt, we don’t go.
Real supervision
Handpicked dogs, fitted life vests, non-slip boarding and calm routines. Someone who loves dogs and the water is watching all day.
Tired, happy dogs
Fresh air, new sights and good mates. The best kind of tired, and photo updates so you see the day they had.
Think your dog would love it?
The best way to find out is a trial day. We’ll help you decide if Boat Dogs is the right fit.
